Lauri Joona and Janni Hussi finished seventh in the WRC2 class of the World Rally Championship in Sardinia, which ended on Sunday. The sixth World Cup rally of the season, Rally Italia Sardegna, was carried out with a tighter schedule than usual. One day was removed from the traditional race week schedule, and all 16 special stages of the competition were run within 48 hours. Lauri Joona , who competes in the Skoda Fabia RS Rally2 car in the TGS Motorsport team, went with his co-driver Janni Huss to the Italian gravel roads, accompanied by a good test day. On the opening day of the race on Friday, four special tests were run after the test special test. At the end of the day, the duo was 8th on the WRC2 class results list. This was the starting point on Saturday to increase both the pace and the ranking. Joona, who had risen to sixth at the best, eventually consolidated his position in seventh, and held that position until the end of the rally.

- The race was a solid performance, and one cannot be satisfied with the speed that was achieved. There are really challenging roads in Sardinia and it was difficult to catch the rhythm. Pikkainen was also looking for the balance of the car. Saturday was Raffi's day, when we drove an entire SM rally in one day without maintenance, said an upset Joona of the race.

- The positive attitude has not been forgotten, with its power we move forward. In this race as well, we learned how to drive in such conditions. And we reached the finish line without any major technical problems, says Joona.

- Not a bad race by any means, but you can't be completely satisfied with the ranking and the pace. From here, towards the next race even faster. A big thank you to the team, all supporters and partners, sums up Joona. Sami Pajari won the WRC2 class, Yohan Rossel took second and Jan Solans took third. Joona was sixth in the WRC2 Challenger series.

The next WC rally will be held in Poland in the last week of June.
