Lauri Joona finished seventh in the WRC2 class of the World Rally Championship in Poland.
The seventh round of the World Rally Championship was completed on Sunday in Poland. For Lauri Joona and Co-driverJanni Hussi competing in the TGS Motorsport team's Skoda Fabia RS Rally2 car in the WRC2 class, the World Rally Poland was the fifth start of the season at the World Championship level. This year the level of the class has been extremely hard and consistent and the Polish competition was no exception.

The start of the rally didn't go exactly according to the plan. Friday's long day without service was already challenging from the start, but delayed and canceled special tests, technical problems with the car and a flat tire brought their own side plot to the course of the race.
"- It was an eventful day, there were all kinds of problems. At the sixth section, we hit the curb in the last corner and the left rear wheel broked. We got it fixed but with some time lost. I'm quite satisfied that we're back in service Joona summed up at the end of the day".
Saturday passed without any major problems and the pace of the duo accelerated as the day progressed. Sunday went even faster, and the final ranking after all stages was seventh. The extremely high level of the class is indicated by the fact that Joona and Hussi were only 13 seconds behind third place.

Although the duo's final position was perhaps not what we were looking for but the pace was much closer to the top of the class than before.
"-Best performance from us this season. We managed to catch the pace well and in the last couple of sections we were right at the top. Have to be satisfied with our pace at the moment Joona summed".
Sami Pajari won the WRC2 class, Oliver Solberg took second and Robert Virves third. Joona was fifth in the WRC2 Challenger series.
Next rally for Lauri Joona will be in Secto Rally Finland.
"-Gradually, the gap to the top of the WRC2 class has decreased. If we do good pre-tests, we will definitely be able to be high in Jyväskylä results, predicts Joona".
